Long-term contract The candidate will work as part of a dedicated central team focused on providing DBA and Development support to development groups deploying on Oracle throughout the firm.

The position demands a high degree of proficiency in the core administrative functions required of an Oracle DBA. The candidate should also have significant experience in delivering projects built on the Oracle platform and be able to demonstrate their ability to work independently with both development teams and the central DBA team.

The candidate should also have the ability to communicate, relate to and gain credibility with team members at all levels. Successful candidates are also likely to work closely with members of our engineering and capacity and optimization groups to help define the platforms and tools used in our production environment.

Able to design and implement large and complex database environments.
Work as part of a central infrastructure team, which provides dedicated support to development groups working with Oracle.
Understand the firms database strategy and work to ensure that new deployments conform to strategy and are deemed successful.
Work with dev teams to ensure they understand the benefits of deploying on Oracle and provide technical and project assistance where required. Participation in 24*7*365 on-call rotation Weekend work in support of project deliverables, DR testing, security patching etc.
Client relationship management.

A senior DBA is expected to be able to comfortably manage client relationships and expectations.

Meeting management A senior DBA is expected to be able comfortably coordinate and manage a meeting. Additionally, a senior DBA is expected to have sufficient expert knowledge about DBA policies, procedures, standards and supported technologies to be able to represent team perspective in meetings.

This is a hire for a senior Oracle DBA to assist RiskIT with the migration of systems within Derivatives IT. This is a critical production role. Proven track record in delivery of multiple concurrent business objectives. Applicant should have a minimum of 8-10 years industry experience in Database Administration related fields. Problem management experience for large-scale problems such as site disaster recovery, sql worm, san failure.

Oracle 9i Oracle 10g Data Database Required Oracle 9i, Oracle 10G, Oracle RAC, Oracle Streams Replication. Understanding of supporting infrastructure technologies such as Unix, Linux, NT, Storage (EMC, Clarion), Clustering solutions, BCV, SRDF. Desired Project Management or Relationship Management skills.
