Job Description
• Develops new system and application implementation plans, custom scripts and testing procedures to ensure operational reliability. Trains Systems Specialists in how to use new software and hardware developed and/or acquired
• Guide or provide work direction to Systems Specialists, contract staff and/or student employees. Determines appropriate coverage for all hours of operation.
• Performs troubleshooting as required. As such, leads problem-solving efforts often involving outside vendors and other support personnel and/or organizations.
• Establishes guidelines and methods for the installation and management of the host computer operating systems, disk arrays, fiber channel switches, tape libraries and other components.
• Ensures high availability and acceptable levels of performance of mission critical host computer resources.
• Develops procedures to maintain security and protect systems from unauthorized use, acts of nature and user abuse.
• Develops procedures, programs and documentation for backup and restoration of host operating systems and hostbased applications.
• Develops and coordinates project directions and schedules to maximize benefits and minimize impacts on the customer organizations. Provides leadership in planning and implementation of projects for computer operations and enterprise systems administration.
• Develops tools, procedures, and training sessions for Operations, Client Support and Systems Development staff to assist with work.
• Manages the data center and computer host systems including hardware, software and equipment such as airconditioning system, UPS (uninterrupted power system) and fire protection system. Stays current with technological developments in systems administration technology and recommends ways for company to take advantage of new technology.
Assist project teams with technical issues in the Initiation and Planning phases of our standard Project Management Methodology.
Job Specification
- A Bachelor degree in IT or equivalent.
- Microsoft Certified System Engineer (MCSE/MCITP); Microsoft Certified System Administrator (MCSA).
- Systems Administration/System Engineer certification in Unix and Microsoft.
- Linux Certification (eg: RHCE)
- VMware Certification (eg: VCP 5, VSphere ICM V6)
- EMC Professional Certification (eg: E20-547, E05-001)
- Minimum of 9 years in the field of MS Server and/or Linux/Unix Server Administration.
- Minimum 3 years of experience to Manage/Lead a technical team Sound communication skills with management, teams, vendors and systems administrators.
- Ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines.
- Experienced in system licensing and security certificates.
Experienced with Disaster Recovery solution Experienced to manage Tier 3 or higher Data Center systems - Experience in VBlock/Hyper converged systems is an advantage
- Project Management Professional (PMP) is a PLUS.
- Experience in Network Virtualization (NSX) and Software Defined Data Center (SDDC) is a PLUS
- Experienced in SQL cluster design and management
- Experienced in Virtualized infrastructure
- Experienced with Microsoft System Center suites
- Experienced with Backup and Archival suites
- Experienced in EMC storage management
- Lead the technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the infrastructure.
- Ensure high standards of confidentiality to safeguard sensitive information.
- Maintain and manage monthly baseline of documented procedures.
- Adopt teamwork approach.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Oversee the Installation of new servers and configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc. in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements.
