We are seeking to recruit on behalf of our client a HEAD OF FIELD PROJECTS to work in our client’sOFFSHORE PROJECTS DEPARTMENT based in Qatar on a long term residential contract married or single status
Purpose
Reports to the Project Manager and acts on the Project Manager’s behalf when delegated
Responsible for managing successfully the execution of FEED of field on time, within budget to full QHSE standards and in accordance with the agreed project requirements, specifications and standards to achieve optimal results for the project overall
Responsible for taking immediate and appropriate decisions while applying best practices of project management principles
Manage Senior Project Engineers within your department organization
Coaches, guides and assigns associate Qatari Project Engineers to enhance their knowledge and improve their skills to be fully responsible Senior Project Engineers
Experience / Qualifications Required
Minimum 15 years of relevant experience in the Offshore Oil amp; Gas Industry with an international consultancy company, EPIC Contractor or Oil amp; Gas Company in major projects implementation is essential
Of the total relevant experience indicated above, the candidate should have worked for a minimum of 5 years in the position of Head Project Engineer with an Engineering Design Consultant or EPIC Contractor in Oil amp; Gas Industry
Experience shall also include engineering coordination with various discipline engineers during Concept optimization studies, FEED amp; Detailed engineering development and management of such contracts
Fully familiar and experienced in all the phases of major Offshore Projects implementation in an Oil amp; Gas Industry environment
Experience skills shall include project engineering, preparation of scope of work for tender, bid evaluation, project risk assessment, contracts coordination and management
Effective communication (presentation, report writing, and management of meetings) skills
Fully familiar with Offshore HSE and QA/QC procedures of major projects and application there-of
Proven ability to work collaboratively with Contractors and positively influence Contractor performance
Must be familiar with all relevant engineering and design requirements for projects, including Shell DEPs, and applicable offshore oil and gas international codes and standards
BSc in an Engineering Discipline or equivalent from an internationally recognized University
