- Job Description Summary Managing the following five departments of the Resort:
Reservations,
Guest Services,
Housekeeping,
Maintenance,
Gardening.
In charge of employees, inventory, and quality control in these departments.
Job Description and Duties
• Daily oversee department managers/supervisors.
• Oversee the hiring, training, and scheduling new staff members, in consultation with department managers/supervisors.
• Set goals for employees and help your staff achieve these goals.
• Schedule and lead staff meetings to regularly communicate with your staff and to ensure that all departments are meeting the resort's standards.
• Maintain inventory control for each department and ensure that all supplies, from housekeeping materials to furniture, are in good condition and in stock.
• Conduct room and grounds inspections to make sure that they are all up to standard and code.
• Maintain high-quality facilities and remedy problems.
• Working with Maintenance Manager, hire contractors to perform services, such as painting, plumbing, air conditioning and other repairs.
• Prepare Reports as required by the General Manager including but not limited to Inventory Control and Maintenance.
• Find acceptable solutions to problems that may arise.
Requirements
* Must have prior experience in a similar position
* Often must work nights and weekends, putting in long hours to ensure the success of the establishment.
* Hours may vary greatly during high and low travel seasons.
- Must be proficient in English - spoken and written.
- Must be hands-on and confident in issuing instructions - productivity in Antigua is problematical unless closely supervised.
- Physically fit person would be best for the role. The resort is on a steep oceanfront bluff and the role requires extensive walking up and down the site.
* Preferably single - because of challenges in getting visas and accommodation limits
- Formal qualifications and certificates and/or unique work experience are important for Work Permit reasons.
Benefits
USD 4000 to 4500/month + economy class airfares once a year to and from the home country ( or equivalent).
The cost of visas and work permits,
Will provide a one-bedroom ensuite accommodation in Antigua, and pay the statutory taxes (17.5%) levied by the Antigua Government on payrolls.
The employer would not be responsible for income tax or withholding taxes (if any) on the salary or sustenance.
