Job Description

Location: Qatar (Middle East) - 100% Remote / Home Working (Must permanently live in Qatar amp; have the right to work without restrictions to apply for this role)

Pay rate: $14 USD per hour (Paid monthly via PayPal)

Hour of Work: 15 hours per week (Flexible)

Contract: 6-month contract with an extension highly likely. Self-employed contractor. Responsible for own taxes. No benefits.

The Role:

Qatar is a rapidly growing market for Twinkl. You will have the creative freedom to shape the content we offer to our customers. Our ideal candidate will be going further than writing content by suggesting new product ideas, identifying needs in the Qatar teaching community and sharing their experiences and expertise with others.

The successful candidate will be vital in ensuring that these ambitious plans for Qatar become a reality. This is a work-from-home, flexible position, and hours can be agreed between you and your line manager to fit around your current commitments.

As an Arabic content writer/editor at Twinkl, you’ll be helping to build our team of passionate professionals working flexibly to write and edit primary focused Arabic content for Twinkl’s emerging Qatar market.

This team will create a wide range of resources for use throughout Kindergarten and Primary. This will include lesson plans, PowerPoints, display materials, activity sheets, assessments and planning. For this role, the majority of your time will be spent creating content for children in the public school system, so you must have experience of teaching in the classroom environment or be able to demonstrate a deep understanding of the education system in Qatar amp; Middle East.


Your weekly activity could include:

  • Meeting with other Twinkl writers or the Qatar Country Manager to discuss new ideas;
  • Writing and editing content for Qatar market (In Arabic);
  • Developing new product ideas with the Qatar Country Manager.
  • Understanding the needs of educators in Domestic Schools in Qatar / Middle East.


In this role, you will learn:

  • How to create new teacher content for growing our Qatar team, from ideation stage to publication on the site;
  • Remote collaboration, working closely with team members across this market;
  • How to develop greater commercial awareness so we can understand the needs of those we want to help.

Requirements

To succeed in the role, you will:

  • Be Fluent (both written amp; spoken) in Arabic.
  • Be a qualified teacher of Arabic in a primary school setting; (Ideally in Qatar)
  • Have good and working knowledge of English; (Able to apply in English for this role, including the cover letter amp; to be interviewed in English)
  • Have a sound, current working knowledge of the Qatar Ministry of Education Curriculum;
  • Be passionate about education in the Qatar;
  • Have an excellent understanding of the needs of Arabic teachers in the Qatar; (Pain points amp; resource ideas)
  • Be innovative, proactive and willing to try new approaches (Agile working)

We’re are especially interested in anyone who have the following:

  • Qualifications: Holds a relevant recent teaching qualification.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years’ recent classroom experience, currently teaching or previous classroom teaching in Qatar.
